Indication:
This product can be used for initial cases of acute simple lower urinary tract infection caused by sensitive Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, some Enterobacteriaceae and saprophytic Staphylococcus. This product has no effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection. At present, this product is rarely used alone. It is generally used in combination with sulfonamides, such as sulfametronidazole or sulfadiazine.

Usage and dosage:Treatment of acute simple urinary tract infection. Common dosage for adults: oral, 0.lg once, once every 12 hours or 0.2g once, once a day, for 7 ~ 10 days.
Adult patients with renal impairment need to reduce the application. The amount commonly used by adults was still used when the creatinine clearance rate was] 30ml / min (0.5ml / s); When the creatinine clearance rate was 15 ~ 30ml / min (0.25 ~ 0.5ml / s), 50mg was taken every 12 hours; This product should not be used when creatinine clearance [15ml / min (0.25ml / s).

Adverse reactions
1. Due to the interference of this product on folate metabolism, adverse reactions of blood system may occur, such as leucopenia, thrombocytopenia or methemoglobin anemia. Generally, leucopenia and thrombocytopenia are mild. Timely withdrawal of the drug is expected to recover. Folic acid preparation can also be added.
2. Allergic reaction: pruritus and rash may occur, and sometimes severe exudative pleomorphic erythema may occur.
3. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and other gastrointestinal reactions, with mild general symptoms.
4. Aseptic meningitis may occur occasionally, including headache, neck rigidity, nausea and so on.

1. It is forbidden for newborns and premature infants.
2. It is forbidden for patients with severe liver and kidney diseases and blood diseases (such as leucopenia, thrombocytopenia, purpura, etc.) and those allergic to this product.

Matters needing attention:
1. The following cases should be used with caution: liver function damage; Megaloblastic anemia or other hematological diseases due to folate deficiency; Impairment of renal function.
2. Peripheral hemogram should be checked regularly during medication. People with long treatment course, high dosage, old age, malnutrition and taking antiepileptic drugs are prone to folate deficiency. If there is a significant reduction in leukocytes or platelets in peripheral hemogram, this product should be stopped.
3. This product can be taken on an empty stomach. If there are gastrointestinal irritation symptoms, it can also be taken with food.
4. If folic acid deficiency is caused by taking this product, folic acid preparation can be taken at the same time. The latter does not interfere with the antibacterial activity of this product, because bacteria can not use the synthesized folic acid. If there are signs of bone marrow suppression, stop this product immediately and give 3 ~ 6mg folate intramuscular injection once a day for 3 days or use it as needed until the hematopoietic function returns to normal. For long-term and excessive use of this product, high-dose folate can be given and the course of treatment can be extended.
5. For patients without urine, the half-life of this product can be extended from about 10 hours to 20 ~ 50 hours. This product can be removed by hemodialysis, so it needs to supplement the full amount of maintenance after dialysis; Peritoneal dialysis has no effect on the clearance of this product from the blood.
6. If combined with sulfamethoxazole (SMZ), the dose ratio of the two is 1 ∶ 5 (TMP ∶ SMZ).

Medication for pregnant and lactating women:
1. This product can cross the blood placental barrier. Although it has not been proved to have teratogenic effect in human application, because this product has teratogenic effect on rats and rabbits, its mechanism is to interfere with folate metabolism, and the drug concentration in fetal circulation and amniotic fluid is close to that in maternal blood. Therefore, the application of this product during pregnancy must weigh the advantages and disadvantages before deciding whether to use it.
2. This product can be secreted into milk with high concentration, and the drug may interfere with the folate metabolism of lactating infants. Therefore, although its problem has not been confirmed in humans, the application of this product in lactating mothers must weigh the advantages and disadvantages before deciding whether to use it.
