Indication:
Albendazole is a broad-spectrum insecticide with high efficiency and low toxicity. Clinically, it can be used to drive Ascaris, pinworm, tapeworm, whipworm, hookworm, Strongylus faecalis, etc. After being metabolized into sulfoxides or sulfones in vivo, it can inhibit the absorption of glucose by parasites, leading to the depletion of glycogen in parasites, or inhibit the fumarate reductase system, hinder the production of ATP, and make parasites unable to survive and reproduce.

Item specifications: 10.2g *10 tablets

Usage and dosage:-Oral, drive hookworm, Ascaris lumbricoides, pinworm and whipworm, take 0.4g orally. Children over 2 years old with simple Enterobius vermicularis and Ascaris lumbricoides infection, take 0.2g orally.

Treatment of cysticercosis: take 15 ~ 20mg/kg twice a day. 10 days is a course of treatment. After 15 ~ 20 days of drug withdrawal, the second course of treatment can be carried out. It usually takes 2 ~ 3 courses of treatment. Repeat treatment if necessary.

For other parasites such as Strongyloides faecalis, take 400mg daily for 6 days. Repeat administration once if necessary. The dosage for children under 12 years old shall be halved. It is not necessary to empty stomach or clear intestines before taking the medicine. It can be chewed, swallowed or ground and taken with food.

Adverse reactions
1. it can cause encephalitis syndrome, mostly delayed reaction.
2. a few cases have dry mouth, fatigue, sleepiness, dizziness, headache, nausea, epigastric discomfort and other symptoms. However, they are all slight and can be relieved without treatment.
3. a few patients may have skin damage such as drug eruption and exfoliative dermatitis; Leucocyte (especially granulocyte) and thrombocytopenia may occur.
4. in the treatment of cysticercosis cellulosae, the drug dosage is large and the course of treatment is long. The reaction usually occurs 2 to 7 days after taking the drug, including headache, fever, rash, muscle pain, seizures, etc. these symptoms are related to the death of cysticercosis cellulosae and the release of specific proteins. Corresponding measures must be taken (the use of adrenocortical hormone, the reduction of cranial pressure, anti epilepsy, etc.).

Taboo:

3. Forbidden for children under 2 years old.
4. it is forbidden for patients with liver and kidney dysfunction.

Matters needing attention:
(1) A few cases have mild headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dry mouth, fatigue and other adverse reactions, which can disappear without treatment.
(2) It is forbidden for children under 2 years old and pregnant women.
(3) It should not be used in patients with acute disease, proteinuria, purulent or diffuse dermatitis, epilepsy and lactating women. Use with caution in patients with severe liver, kidney and heart dysfunction and active ulcer disease.
(4) A few patients may have the effect of insect repellent after taking the medicine for 3 ~ 10 days.
(5) During the treatment of cysticercosis, some patients will have different degrees of dizziness, headache, fever, urticaria and other reactions. The degree of reaction is related to the number of cysticercosis, parasitic sites and body reactions. Patients with severe infection must be hospitalized for cerebrospinal fluid and fundus examination, and closely observed.and 20% mannitol can be given as appropriate when necessary. There is no need to treat dermatomuscular cysticercosis.
