Indication:
For the treatment of intestinal and extraintestinal amoebiasis (such as amebic liver abscess, pleural amoebiasis, etc.). It can also be used in the treatment of vaginal trichomoniasis, Microcystis, cutaneous leishmaniasis and guinea worm infection. At present, it is also widely used in the treatment of anaerobic infection.

Usage and dosage:1. Common dosage for adults
6 g (2-3 tablets), 3 times a day for 7 days; 6-0.8g (3-4 tablets) three times a day for 20 days.
4 g (2 tablets) three times a day for 5-10 days.
2 (1 tablet) g, 3 times a day for 7 days.
2 g (1 tablet) twice a day for 5 days.
2 g (1 tablet), 4 times a day for 10 days. A course of treatment was repeated 10 days later.
Trichomoniasis, 0.2g (1 tablet), 4 times a day for 7 days; Suppository can be used at the same time, 0.5g per night into the vagina, for 7-10 days.
For anaerobic infection, take 0.6-1.2g (3-6 tablets) orally every day, three times, 7-10 days as a course of treatment.
2. Common dosage for children
Amoebiasis, 35-50 mg / kg body weight, three times a day, 10 days as a course of treatment.
Giardiasis, 15-25 mg / kg body weight, was given orally three times a day for 10 days; The dosage for guinea worm disease, marsupialosis and trichomoniasis is the same as that for giardiasis.
Anaerobes infection, oral 20-50 mg / kg per day.

Adverse reactions
Adverse reactions occurred in 15% - 30% of the cases, and gastrointestinal reactions were the most common, including nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite and abdominal colic, which generally did not affect the treatment; Nervous system symptoms include headache, vertigo, occasional paresthesia, limb numbness, ataxia, multiple neuritis, etc. In a few cases, urticaria, flushing, pruritus, cystitis, dysuria, metallic taste in the mouth and leukopenia occurred, which were reversible and recovered spontaneously after withdrawal.

Taboo:
Patients with active central nervous system diseases and hematological diseases are forbidden

Matters needing attention:
(1) Interference with diagnosis: the metabolites of this product can make the urine dark red.
(2) The dosage should be reduced in patients with original liver disease. The drug should be stopped when dyskinesia or other central nervous system symptoms appear. White blood cell count should be done before repeating a course of treatment. The interval of administration should be extended from 8 hours to 12 hours in patients with anaerobe infection and renal failure.
(3) This product can inhibit alcohol metabolism, and should be abstained from alcohol during medication. Abdominal pain, vomiting, headache and other symptoms may appear after drinking.

Medication for pregnant and lactating women:
Pregnant women and lactation women are prohibited.
