Indication
Piperacillin sodium for injection is applicable to sepsis caused by sensitive Enterobacteriaceae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter, upper urinary tract and complex urinary tract infection, respiratory tract infection, biliary tract infection, abdominal infection, pelvic infection, skin and soft tissue infection, etc. The combination of piperacillin and aminoglycosides can also be used for the infection of immunodeficient patients with granulocytopenia.

Usage and dosage
This product can be used for intravenous drip and intravenous injection.
For adults with moderate infection, 8g a day was injected intravenously twice; 3 ~ 4G of severe infection once, intravenous drip or injection every 4 ~ 6 hours. The total daily dose does not exceed 24g.
The dose for infants and children under 12 years old is 100 ~ 200mg / kg per day. If the newborn weight is less than 2kg, 50mg / kg every 12 hours in the first week after birth, intravenous drip; 50mg / kg from the second week, once every 8 hours. For newborns weighing more than 2kg, 50mg / kg every 8 hours in the first week after birth, intravenous drip; 50mg / kg every 6 hours for those over 1 week.
Adverse reaction
1. Allergic reactions: allergic reactions to penicillins are common, including urticaria and other skin rashes, leucopenia, interstitial nephritis, asthma attack and serotype reactions. Severe cases such as anaphylactic shock are occasionally seen; Once anaphylactic shock occurs, it must be rescued on site, and treatment measures such as keeping airway unblocked, oxygen inhalation and administration of adrenaline and glucocorticoid must be taken.
2. Local symptoms: local injection site pain, thrombophlebitis, etc.
3. Gastrointestinal symptoms: diarrhea, loose stool, nausea, vomiting, etc; Pseudomembranous enteritis is rare.
4. Cholestatic jaundice may occur in individual patients.
5. Central nervous system symptoms: headache, dizziness, fatigue, etc.
6. When patients with decreased renal function apply large dose, penicillin encephalopathy occurs due to the increase of cerebrospinal fluid concentration. Therefore, the dose should be adjusted according to renal function.
